Your North West Wedding - October/November 2019 (Issue 58)

After 17 years together, the thought of planning a wedding was rather daunting. I Googled quirky venues, and The Wellbeing Farm was the first result. The name alone made me smile, so I decided to give them a call. The staff informed me that they were having an open day that I was welcome to attend. Scott was working, so I took one of my dearest friends instead. Within minutes of arriving, we were immersed in a stunning farm full of llamas, alpacas and hay bales. Scott visited with me a few nights later and fell in love. We didn’t want to hang about, so we booked a date for four months later. With the venue’s help, we created a day that was beyond perfect and fitted us like a glove. Our seating plan tied in with our colour scheme perfectly, and we were thrilled with the result. A dear friend of mine created the favours. She designed surfboards and engraved our guests’ names into them. We tried to avoid tradition as much as possible, so we opted for a farm-style cake with tiers of cheese, grapes and chutneys. We also had a doughnut wall and smaller bakes for those with a sweet tooth. Steph from Darling Ivy was outstanding. She created festival-themed invitations and wristbands for our friends and family to wear on the day. We hit the jackpot with Michelle from Love Rosie Venue Décor. She worked her socks off to create floral arrangements bursting with colour. She also made the most divine flower crown, which I wore until the early hours and even had a rose petal bubble bath in it the next day. 46
