Your North West Wedding - Jun/Jul 2019 (Issue 56)
Rebecca and I decided to have our wedding at Hunday Manor Hotel in Workington. We’d heard great things about it from our family. We met with Barry, one of the wedding coordinators at the venue, and he talked us through all of the packages and explained everything they could do for us. We viewed a few other places but nothing ever compared. After the ceremony, Becca whispered to me that her garter had fallen down. We laughed about it but couldn’t fix it without anybody noticing. We forget about it until we were stood in the gazebo, having some photos taken, and our photographer, Chris, discreetly mentioned that it had slipped down. I had to crawl underneath the many layers of her dress to put it back on. The place names were written on white card with purple text and decorated with snowflakes. Hunday Manor Hotel provided the food. We served our loved ones vegetable soup, raspberry sorbet, chicken, wild mushroom risotto, cheesecake and vegan chocolate tart. Our cake was made by a good friend of ours, Sam Alexander from Terry’s Treats. It consisted of chocolate fudge, black cherry, white chocolate and sponge. It was embellished with blue, lilac and purple roses, with a single green rose on the back to honour my sister, who sadly passed away a month before the wedding. We finished the look with a mural of us and our dog, Scout, stood in front of a multi-coloured tree. For the flowers, we chose pink and lilac blooms. 50
