Love is ALL AROUND Rebecca and Jake’s nuptials were held at Hunday Manor Hotel Images courtesy of Chris Lewis Photography R ebecca and Jake met in infant school. “A good friend of mine brought his younger sister into class for show and tell,” says Jake. “I only have vague memories of that day, but that’s when I first met Rebecca. Over the next 17 years, Peter and I remained good friends, but I only saw Rebecca in passing. A week before her 18 th birthday, Peter asked me if I would like to go to her party with him. As soon as I saw her, I was struck by how beautiful she looked. We talked a few times over the course of the evening and seemed to have a real connection. Three weeks later, I saw her at a bar with Peter, and she looked stunning. We had our first kiss, and from there our relationship blossomed.” After one year together, Jake popped the question. “I knew very early on that I wanted to spend my life with Becca,” explains the groom. “I decided to propose on our first anniversary. In the run-up to the proposal, I booked a day off work and set up cameras in our living room. I scattered rose petals all over the floor and woke her up with breakfast in bed and told her to meet me downstairs. I went down, turned the cameras on, got down on one knee and waited. As she walked in, I asked her to be my wife and she hugged me and nodded. To this day, she still tells me that she never actually said yes!” Here he shares some of his favourite moments from their big day... 49 REAL WEDDINGS
