Your North West Wedding - Mar/Apr 2019 (Issue 55)
Andrew and I decided to have our wedding at Lodore Falls Hotel & Spa in Keswick. We were blown away by the breathtaking views and knew right away we wanted to get married there. A few weeks later, we had a meeting with the wedding coordinator and booked a date. The team did a fantastic job, and nothing was too much trouble. David and Georgina, in particular, made us feel so comfortable and relaxed. I visited The Bridal Collection of Lancaster, where my maid-of-honour, Kim, pointed out a dress that I instantly fell in love with. I tried on 12 others before deciding it was the one . It was a Maggie Sottero design called Morgan . The gown arrived at the store in January, and a week later, I found out I was pregnant! The staff were fantastic and very reassuring. They were in contact with me numerous times leading up to the big day and even carried out alterations the week of our wedding. For our big-day blooms, we knew exactly what we wanted. We met Abi from Abi’s Arrangements in Morecambe, and she understood our vision right away. She used bright flowers, including freesia, roses, sunflowers and calla lilies. Andrew and the groomsmen wore navy suits from Marks & Spencer with brown shoes. I was so excited to walk down the aisle and finally marry Andrew. Instead of a traditional cake, we opted for a cheese tower. We visited Dewlay in Garstang and sampled lots of flavours. We chose some of our favourites and decorated it with flowers from our centrepieces. 52
