I felt so glamorous and special on the day. Our mums did a joint reading where they gave us plenty of insights and advice from their happy marriages – it was the perfect mix of humour and sentiment. The ceremony was completely bespoke and personal to us; we’re very grateful to our celebrant, Jo Stott, who shared our love story perfectly. Our loved ones wrote movie quotes onto pieces of paper and placed them into a bowl before the ceremony began. We would occasionally pause during our vows to read whatever was written and incorporate this seamlessly into our following sentence. We’re big fans of the show Hamilton and my improv teachers Ian McLaughlin and Bev Fox performed a song they wrote themselves in the style of You’ll Be Back. REAL WEDDINGS 39
