Your North East Wedding - March/April 2022 (Issue 49)

hoped for. We didn’t want a typical cheesy wedding band and these guys were exactly what we were looking for.” She adds, “John did an amazing cover of At Last by Etta James for our first dance, and many guests got their details for future events.” MEMORABLE MOMENTS The couple organised a big meal the night before the wedding with family and close friends to extend the celebrations, and to give everyone the chance to get to know each other. The couple couldn’t stop smiling all day, and many moments made the day even more special. Tom says, “Seeing Vin walking down the aisle was a moment I’d imagined a million times but it was almost surreal”. He adds, “Looking around the room during the wedding breakfast and seeing all our favourite people happy and having fun together was just so special.” Another memorable moment for the groom was seeing a packed dancefloor with guests singing Sit Down by the band James at the end of the night. A top moment for Vinaya was getting ready in the morning with her best girls. She comments, “They made me giggle the whole morning, which just set the mood for the day. My mum and dad arriving made it even more perfect, although tricky to keep my beautifully applied make-up on due to lots of happy tears! “On the wedding morning, Tom ended up watching a Newcastle United game from the ‘90s in bed with his brother and best man Matt at 6am because he was too excited and nervous to sleep!” She adds, “Seeing the man of my dreams waiting for me at the end of the aisle, looking at me the way I’d always hoped my future husband would, was so emotional.” All the suppliers involved in the couple’s special day were brilliant and couldn’t have done a better job, especially Alex and Rod at Wylam Brewery. They made the whole day run like clockwork, which meant the couple didn’t worry about a thing all day. HONEYMOON The couple had originally planned to go island hopping in Greece for two weeks for their honeymoon. However, the pandemic caused travel restrictions, and they ended up going to Rudding Park for a minimoon instead. A trip to Greece was planned this year, but the couple have postponed the holiday as they’re expecting their first child. VINAYA SHARES HER TOP WEDDING TIP... “On the day, turn your phone off and give it to someone else to look after. You spend such a long time planning and thinking about the big day, and the best thing you can do is try and be present to take it all in. “Make sure you have plenty of time with your new husband/wife too – you’re making new memories together!” 26
