32 L O V E al fresco Excitement was all around at Sara and Neil’s romantic day Images courtesy of Laura Beasley Photography S ara and Neil’s adventure first began when they met through her brother and discovered that they both worked at their local supermarket. Sara says: “Neil made me laugh all the time and we both clicked as friends until he plucked up the courage to ask me out – after the third time I agreed!” After spending more time together, feelings started to develop and Sara fell in love with Neil’s confidence, outlook on life and his kindness. Neil says he knew she was the one from their first meeting. Fast forward seven years, the pair took a boat trip in Lake Como, Italy, to visit Cluny Abbey of Holy Mary of Piona – here they took in the peaceful surrounding. Sara says: “We sat down to admire the breathtaking views and a group of nuns came out and sat to pray. They started singing Ave Maria in Italian and it was beautiful to listen to. We looked at each other in amazement and the next thing I knew, Neil was on one knee with the ring box in his hand asking me to marry him – of course, I said ‘yes!’” Here Sara shares details about their special day…
