THE BARN ON THE BAY 01670 458 118 | www.facebook.com/BarnOnTheBay With plenty of field space, The Barn on The Bay is perfect for all types of weddings including festival or boho-themed with glamping villages and stretches right down to the beach so guests can dip their toes in on a hot summer day. This flexible space allows for different chill-out spaces and several bars including a cocktail box and a gin cabinet, a dancefloor and dining all in the same room. The Wedding Barn is a rustic agricultural barn situated in the heart of a farm and has a paddock and yard with a stunning veranda, which is perfect for drinks receptions. The double doors provide the opportunity to make a grand entrance and is a photographer’s dream! It leads out to the grounds with props such as the vintage tractor that makes the perfect farm backdrop for photos. There’s a heavy emphasis on the barn retaining its agricultural charm; straw bales are used to create a chill-out seating area and plenty of space for a ceremony, as well as eating, drinking and dancing. Couples can decorate the space as much or as little as they like! To entertain guests, the enclosed grassy area has plenty of space for games and picnics, where lovebirds can also hire one of the Star Tents for a bit of shade. Alpacas can even be booked to mingle and they’re always a big hit with friends and family. Ceremonies can take place at different locations at this premises; the Beachside Ceremony Area (200 capacity) has direct beach access in under a minute’s walk from the farm while the alfresco Paddock (200) overlooks the fields. This space can be set up with benches, arches and props to make the perfect garden ceremony space. Or, why not opt for the Calico Barn, which is ideal for intimate ceremonies for up to 40 people? If you’re looking to hold the ceremony and reception under one roof, the Cowshed Wedding Barn is perfect for 200 seated guests and up to 250 for an evening reception. People can also use the veranda and paddock areas for their reception. In addition to the spaces listed above, the farm also incorporates part of the beautiful Druridge Bay coastline, with direct access to a seven-mile stretch of the stunning sandy bay. Many of the farm’s original features have been incorporated and maintain the agricultural feel of the venue, with two bars made from converted Rice Richardson vintage horse trailers and a restored Massey Ferguson tractor on hand to take guests to the ceremony area. There’s also accommodation available on-site in the Bunkbarn, which has accommodation for up to 18 guests, glamping pods, teepees, and the dunes camping area – the farm cottage is a perfect bridal suite and a great place to relax the night before. The company’s Familiarisation Trips are pretty special – couples come together for food and wine tasting while some of the venue’s supplier friends run workshops to help them with their wedding planning. Newlyweds-to-be get to check out all of the props from the prop store and can make a list of what they want to use for their wedding – all free of charge. Weekly Team Days are also held where couples can pop in for coffee plus cake and discuss their weddings and get some help from the co-ordination team. There’s even a Facebook group for lovebirds that have booked the venue to exchange ideas and also buy, sell or re-use props and decorations. At the end of the year, all couples are invited back to plant a tree on the farm to commemorate their wedding.
