REAL WEDDINGS 33  icing that tasted delicious. They’d seen the company’s incredible work on social media and knew the cake would be exactly what they wanted. Talking about their transport, Laura said: “Matt and I had originally decided we weren’t going to have a wedding car to save money but my lovely parents persuaded me otherwise and thank goodness we did – it made for lovely photos and gave us a short amount of time alone immediately after the ceremony. "We put on a coach for guests to take them from the ceremony to the evening venue.” All the guests enjoyed an amazing three-course meal at the SIX restaurants at the Baltic. Many of the guests commented to the couple saying it was ‘the best wedding food they had ever had’.  LOOKING THE PART The bride wore an Enzonai gown called  Janine , which was mostly plain with detailing around the shoulder and beautiful buttons on the back. Laura says: “The very talented owner of the shop, Heather, actually selected this dress for me and I knew straight away that it was the right one. I felt it was very flattering and a timeless design.”  The groom decided on a grey waistcoat with purple tie and pocket square to match the bridesmaids’ dresses. TIME TO CELEBRATE There was an amazing DJ who kept everyone on their feet to dance the night away – he created a mash-up for their first dance and was extremely accommodating. The couple also opted to have a photo booth. On the day, Laura felt extremely nervous. She says: “I’ve never felt like this in my entire life! My dad had to deal with my wobbly legs and shaking hands in the wedding car. But the minute I got to the top of the aisle and saw Matt, it melted away.” The day was perfect and filled with so many incredible moments. Laura recalls: “My dad wrote a poem about me growing up and meeting Matt, which was beautiful and hilarious! Our first dance was one of my favourite parts. We had a mash-up of Ellie Goulding How Long Will I Love You  and House of Pain  Jump Around .” The dancefloor was full of friends and family, even the men were all together singing Spice Girls and a conga line was formed.  Laura comments on two people that made their day extra special, she says: “Our DJ sent us a video and a Facebook album of images from the night. It was a surprise, but so enormously appreciated.” She adds: “Joey, our best man was incredible from start to finish, every detail was covered, and he was so supportive.” HONEYMOON After their magical day, the pair enjoyed a mini-break in the Lake District where they stayed in a cottage and enjoyed discovering the local area. It was the perfect location to have some downtime together as newlyweds. The couple shares their top tip while planning saying: “Don’t let the wedding consume everything – still set time aside for date nights, meeting with friends and just chilling out. It’s really easy to let it take over!”
