VENUE STYLING 59 CEREMONY & RECEPTION FLOWERS “With this type of budget, you really can go to town!” says Rebecca. “My advice here would all depend on your venue, and the type of feel you want to achieve for your big day. You can fill your bouquets with David Austin roses if you wish, have flower crowns for your whole bridal party, and have so many eye-catching ‘wow’ pieces you can barely count them! The higher you go with your budget, the more you can let your ideas run wild. If your venue has a high ceiling, I would definitely say it would be a good idea to have at least half of your tables adorned with tall, magnificent table centres such as geometric gold stands or glass vases. If your venue is more intimate, then lower arrangements full of luxurious blooms will be the way to go – perhaps lanterns of candles, surrounded by flowers and foliage. Staircases, fireplaces, aisle decoration, free-standing whimsical archways – the possibilities could go on for days! It all just depends on what you want on your must- have list.” DECORATIONS & LIGHTING “A budget of over £50,000 for your wedding will really allow you to have a day styled and fully personalised to you both as a couple,” says Jane. “Although the same principles apply with regards to the areas of your venue to style, the range of materials and finishes available to you is a lot greater – and with this size of budget you really can design a one-off wedding day. “The ‘guest experience’ is really important to our couples, and with this size of budget most couples will probably be looking at free bars and plenty of food for their guests. With regards to the venue styling this budget would allow you to have many custom-made pieces and add in some special treats for your guests. Personalisation is a lovely touch to any wedding; embroidered fabric napkins can bring an extra elegance to any table when the budget allows, and couples may also look at bringing in different furniture into the venue, to ensure it entirely ties into their theme. “Statement light installations, especially for weddings in the darker months, can turn any venue in to a magical space – with this budget couples again could have a specific installation designed just for them. And remember to go big if you have the budget! Bring in some large statement pieces, such as giant trees, as they really bring the inside in – as well as providing that wow factor.” ENTERTAINMENT “For this type of budget, I would be opting for everything previously mentioned – and that little extra something!” says Amie. “For food I’d suggest a grazing table rather than canapes. They look far more luxurious, plus suppliers will often use produce local to the area, helping smaller, local businesses further still. I would also be looking to companies who solely deal in adding lighting to events. While through the day your venue will show off all its natural splendour, at night it can be brought to life with light canopies, lanterns and neon lighting. Round off the night with an epic firework display with a soundtrack to match – guests will talk about it for years to come and the photos will be amazing!” YOU’VE GOT… A £5OK+ BUDGET FOR YOUR WEDDING thecountrysideflorist.net thecountrysideflorist.net facebook.com/diyAwedding/ neverendingstories.co.uk birdcagesanddragonflies.com birdcagesanddragonflies.com birdcagesanddragonflies.com facebook.com/diyAwedding thecountrysideflorist.net/ emmamariephotography.co.uk thecountrysideflorist.net
