Your North East Wedding - November/December 2019 (Issue 35)

 PHOTOGRAPHY 57 THE MOMENT County Durham’s 2tone Photography captured this tender image of a bride with her father “Helen and Dave said ‘I do’ back in 2008 at St Mary’s RC Church in Sunderland, followed by a wedding reception at Lumley Castle. Helen’s father has since passed away, however, this image keeps the little things alive long after everything’s been forgotten. If photography can transfix a moment in time – keeping the essence of both personality and heart – then a beautiful story is born.” 2tone Photography 2tonephotography.co.uk We asked 10 North East photographers to reveal their favourite wedding snap of all time. The results are in – and they’re pretty incredible… Love and laughter was the order of the day for Newcastle’s Erika Tanith Photography “Laura and Sean tied the knot in August at Newcastle’s The Vermont Hotel. I adore this image because it’s packed with colour, laughter and fun. It was windy on the hotel’s roof terrace, so the confetti went everywhere. It swirled in the air creating the most magical scene. Everyone was covered; it was like heart-shaped snow in the middle of summer. This photograph encapsulates the day for me; the energy, the hilarity, and, of course, the love.” Erika Tanith Photography | erikatanithphotography.co.uk perfect You can’t help but smile at this bride, snapped in her element by Newcastle’s Laurence Sweeney Photography “Ayo and Leila became husband and wife at The Secret Tower earlier this year, and had family and friends attending from Nigeria, Kyrgyzstan and Belgium. I’m drawn to this image for many reasons, but the key one is to do with happiness. This is a couple so obviously in love and their smiles reflect their devotion. I know that when they look back on this photo it will rekindle memories of their fabulous and happy wedding day.” Laurence Sweeney Photography laurencesweeney photography.com This image from Gateshead-based Margarita Hope Photography shows how you should always think outside the box “Rachael and Sean got married in May at High House Farm Brewery in Northumberland. We popped out for their couple shots before the speeches started, and as soon as I saw the field, I had the idea for a similar photo in my head. Luckily for me it quickly improved – as soon as Sean put his sunnies on, a gust of wind picked up Rachael’s veil and I snapped the fantastic result!” Margarita Hope Photography margaritaphotos.com
