Your North East Wedding - November/December 2019 (Issue 35)

We are not really fans of bands and knew from the start we wanted a DJ. Chris came recommended, and I loved his style and setup. We had a mix of recent chart music and some classics, and we ended the night with lots of dance and club tunes. We had a three-tier semi-naked cake decorated with fruit, coupled with matching cupcakes. The fruit on the cake shimmered with edible glitter and looked incredible, while the vanilla, white chocolate with raspberry and lemon flavours were delicious. I am the least creative person ever but am proud to say I made the table plan and place settings myself! Apart from that, I left everything up to the suppliers – they made the day run so smoothly and made it stress-free for us. I loved the beautiful floral arch we had situated at the bottom of the staircase, along with the giant floral “love” letters in front of the DJ. Our centrepieces were also amazing – tall vases with blush and ivory floral arrangements on wooden log slices. LINDSAY’S TOP TIP! “Take your time researching and booking your suppliers. Once you’ve found them, trust their judgement – they really do know what they’re doing!” I am totally clueless when it comes to flowers, so I pretty much left it up to my florist! She did an outstanding job, and I was blown away with my bouquet, which was a mix of ivory peonies with ivory and pale pink roses. REAL WEDDINGS 47 
