Your North East Wedding - Mar/Apr 2019 (Issue 31)

18 Crook Hall and Gardens This historic venue, which boasts Georgian, Jacobean and medieval features, is an amazing space in which to tie the knot. Situated within five acres of spectacular gardens, a beautiful woodland aisle leads to a white gazebo, where an outside ceremony can also take place. The gardens include a peaceful moat pool, a maze to entertain guests and a brand-new Woodland Canopy (see more on page 9), which is hidden among the trees and filled with twinkling lights. Wedding ceremonies can take place in the historic Medieval Hall, complete with roaring fire and candlelight and holding up to 80 people. The classical Georgian Drawing Room, overlooking Durham Cathedral, is ideal for up to 40 guests, while the gazebo and Woodland Canopy locations can both be set for 80. There are also smaller rooms available for fewer guest numbers. Each couple who books their wedding at Crook Hall will also receive an annual pass to visit the Hall & Gardens, to use as they wish up until their wedding day. If the wedding couple choose the afternoon tea wedding breakfast, they also receive a complimentary afternoon tea visit to taste- test before their wedding or to use in the future as an anniversary celebration.
