Your Midlands Wedding - October/November 2024 (Issue 94)

at me, and I knew he was overjoyed by the procession and seeing his wife-to-be. Tears began to well up in his eyes, and I knew he was just as caught up in the moment as I was. We will never forget that moment; it will always be special.” The make-up artist Ade from Bims Beauty created the bride’s dream wedding look! Everyone commented how the make-up looked incredible and loved how Chantell changed it for the reception, when she changed into an evening dress called Ofrah from Wedding Belles of Four Oaks. The small train made it ideal for dancing. Michael wore a blue suit, brown shoes and a rose-gold tie. His ivory waistcoat set him apart from the rest of the wedding party, all in blue, adding an intriguing contrast to the scene. The adult bridesmaids’ dresses wore off-the-shoulder long dresses while the flowergirls wore embellished glitter tulle dresses. NOW THAT’S ENTERTAINMENT Keeping guests entertained was essential to the pair! So they hired the Lumos String Quartet to entertain guests before the ceremony while a Caribbean steel drum band performed during the drinks reception to keep guests entertained. The music was lively and reminiscent of carnival music, which is prominent in Caribbean culture. There was also a magician/mind reader who entertained loved ones. Several children were a part of the wedding party, so he performed tricks to keep them entertained – this was very thoughtful and unexpected. A talented singer beautifully performed during the signing-of-the-register, the wedding breakfast and after the first dance in the evening before DJ Remmy took over to continue the celebrations. The music selection was just the right mix of our modern dancehall and reggae soulful music. All the entertainment was a hit! Guests often commented on the day and afterwards said that they enjoyed the various aspects of the entertainment brought to the day. MEMORABLE MOMENTS Walking down the aisle and seeing her husband-to-be was a very memorable moment for Chantell. During the ceremony, they were both nervous about saying things wrong, but the registrar reassured them, which made them feel at ease. The speeches were also incredible! The father-of-the-bride’s speech made the pair emotional. Chantell was happy to see how her dad had accepted her husband into the family. She adds, “My eldest daughter’s speech was special to me as well, she came round to wipe my tears and hug me. Having my two daughters at the wedding was special; my youngest was nine months at the time and we were so happy she was awake when it was time for the photos” All the well wishes, marital support and guidance will stay with the couple always. Talking about the lovebirds, they surprised guests at the evening reception with a stylish, modern dance. It included the bride, groom, bridesmaids and groomsmen. No one was expecting such an entrance and movement on the dancefloor. For their first dance to My Heart Will Go On by Celine Dion, the couple had formal ballroom dance lessons beforehand to prepare. This made it extra special as Michael is not a dancer, but the lessons ensured they were comfortable with all eyes on them. The bride says, “The dance teacher who taught us how to dance was amazing! We learned the whole thing in two sessions but practised a lot.” It was exhilarating and non-stop during the course of the day. Thankfully, Moxhull Hall also coordinated the day. Therefore, it ran as smoothly as possible, which was something the newlyweds would be eternally grateful for. Chentell wanted her mom to play a special part in the preparation early in the day. She says, “To have her with me, helping me to put on my dress before anyone else saw it, was special to me. I had pictures taken of this moment, which came out beautiful; I will cherish them forever. I had a fun and relaxed morning with my bridesmaids too. The nerves and emotions really hit me, but at the same time, I was excited. Walking down the stairs in the manor house with the help of my sister, who was also my maid-of-honour, was exceptional.” The photographer, Emily Jayne, was amazing! As soon as Chantell saw her style, she knew she was the perfect supplier. The photos captured many precious moments, which the pair will treasure forever. Her assistance on the day of organising the photos was amazing. The candid moments and professional images have become gifts to others as keepsakes of the day. Matt from PS Visuals created the wedding film; the visuals, music and composition of the videos have been the highlight of the couple’s post-wedding vibe. After planning her own wedding and other events, Chantell has been told on numerous occasions that she has a good eye for detail. Since her wedding, she REAL WEDDINGS 29
