VENUE STYLING 63 Classic black and white weddings are making a modern comeback. With sleek lines and minimalistic décor, monochrome styling offers timeless sophistication and a clean, elegant look. - Kara Owen, Kara-Mia Venue Styling Bows have been the most popular request for many couples. This trend begins with the styling of the chair drapes at the back of the aisle and continues throughout the day with signage, ribbons on candles for the table centrepieces, cake decorations and even the bride’s hair accessories. Ambience Nottingham brought the styling to life. - Emma Whittle, Mayflower and Lily Over the past decade, there has been a shift away from traditional weddings, leaving long tailcoats in the past. Rustic weddings have been popular, but there’s a slight decrease in requests. People might be feeling like it’s becoming too common. While still embracing a mismatched, relaxed and informal wedding vibe, there’s a return to a more classic look. For instance, I’m paying attention to small details like choosing satin ribbon in ivory to wrap the bouquet stems and moving away from hessian. Using lots of foliage and a looser bouquet design creates a natural feel that can complement various styles, whether rustic, boho, or classic. - Vanessa Henderson, Floral Jazz www.leanne.photography Metallic-themed weddings are on the rise! Gold, rose gold and copper have become the go-to metallic colours for weddings and events, adding a touch of elegance and sophistication to any setting. From shimmering table linens and cutlery to gilded accents on wedding cakes and floral arrangements, these metallic hues are versatile. They can be incorporated in various ways to create a cohesive and glamorous look. In wedding invitations, gold foil stamping or rose gold lettering can elevate the design and make a statement. Couples can also opt for copper accents on their stationery for a unique and trendy touch. These metallic colours are visually appealing and symbolise luxury and opulence, making them perfect for creating a memorable and stylish event. Regarding dinnerware, gold, rose gold, and copper flatware, chargers, and glassware can instantly elevate the tablescape and create a luxurious dining experience for guests. These metallic accents can be paired with neutral or bold colours create a striking contrast and add a modern touch to the overall decor. – YMW team There have been more festival and garden themes, with British garden flowers being much more popular in the last 12 months. Being a ruralbased florist, most wedding flowers I create are country and festival styles. I am using milk churns more again this year. I haven’t used them much for the last two years, but they go with the garden/county-style theme perfectly. - Claire Bradley, Claire Bradley Floral Designs
