the catering options offered by the venue. The three-tiered cake, a delicious centerpiece of the event, was beautifully decorated with fondant icing and pearl accents. The flavours, thoughtfully selected to please all guests, featured vanilla sponge, lemon and red velvet. To transport guests from the church to the reception venue, the couple arranged for a coach and hired three wedding cars, including two Rolls-Royces and a Jaguar driven by Brett’s father for the bridesmaids. LOOKING THE PART The bride was dressed in a stunning white gown from Brides of Solihull, which featured an A-line silhouette with intricate lace detailing on the front and back, along with a long train. To complete her look, Emily wore a lovely lace-trimmed veil that perfectly matched her attire, accessorised with simple jewellery including a pearl necklace, pearl earrings and a silver bracelet. Brett wore a three-piece navy suit, a white shirt and brown shoes, with a tie that set him apart from the groomsmen. The bridesmaids wore strappy lilac floor-length dresses that exuded a summery charm. TIME TO CELEBRATE The entertainment commenced as soon as the guests arrived at the church. A guitarist serenaded them with a few songs, while an organist played hymns and Emily’s entrance music. During the drinks reception, a saxophonist entertained the guests with Ibiza chilled-out anthems, creating a unique atmosphere. The evening was further enhanced by a live band, who surprised everyone by playing some Irish numbers. The lead guitarist’s flaming guitar added an exciting element as the bride limboed underneath it. Following the band’s lively performance, a DJ took over, ensuring the night ended on a high note. MEMORABLE MOMENTS Overall, the couple had the best day; they felt so amazing and didn’t want the day to end, and apparently, Emily kept saying this to everyone! She comments, “Moments that stood out included saying our vows to each other in church, the emotional speeches that I loved listening to and our first dance, which was also epic as we learnt a little routine to Your Song by Elton John. The last song of the evening was memorable for me as we were dancing in the middle of the circle surrounded by our friends and family, singing our hearts out to Champagne Supernova by Oasis! Also, the sparklers and fireworks display at the end of the evening were incredible as well. “There were many funny moments! The smoke cannons I had bought for us both with the wedding party to do a really cool picture just was an epic fail – from people turning blue from the ink dye to a groomsmen getting a little burnt on their hands from the smoke cannons, it wasn’t exactly how I had planned it but was hilarious to watch! “Everyone who was there to celebrate us made our day! However, the father/ daughter dance was a massive highlight. My dad and I practised a dance routine to about 10 songs mashed up on a track! No one expected it, so it was hilarious when we broke into a dance routine! However, I think most of all, the venue put out all the stops to perfect the day. There wasn’t one problem, and they executed everything very well. We couldn’t fault the team at Walton Hall – and they even took a photo of us without us knowing, framed it and popped it in our room with Champagne so when we came to bed that evening, there was our first wedding picture – just brilliant!” HONEYMOON The newlyweds flew to New York for their honeymoon just a few days after tying the knot. The bride mentioned, “We splurged on first-class tickets—why not after just getting married—it was amazing. We had a rough idea of what we wanted to do during our week-long stay, like catching a Broadway show, biking in Central Park, taking a train to Coney Island and hitting up all the major tourist spots. We were given the New York City Pass as a wedding gift, which allowed us to REAL WEDDINGS 37
