Your West Midlands Wedding- Page number 38 - October/November 2021 (Issue 76)
Mark and I were determined to cut costs yet still provide a great experience for our guests. I spent a lot of my free time with my mum learning calligraphy, designing invitations, painting pallets and was a sucker for an online bargain. I decided on a sage green and blush colour scheme because it looked natural and tied in well with our venue. I’m so pleased with the result, and the photos show how warm and glowy the overall atmosphere was. We hired a Volkswagen Campervan from The Old Camper Company and a vintage bus from Wyvern Omnibus Ltd to transport the wedding party. Our table plan was put together by my parents and was made from heart- shaped wood and decorated with fairylights and ivy. Our cake was a single-tier semi-naked design from Three Bears Bakery. It was Kinder Bueno flavoured and was incredible! We also had lemon and Kinder Bueno cupcakes for our guests. Floral Roundabout provided the flowers. I asked for a slightly messy look, as though we had just gathered them from a nearby field. We placed some of the blooms on the table with wooden blocks for the centrepieces. Elmbridge Farm was the first property we visited. We were one of their first visitors back in October 2018 when the venue was just a field with no tipi in sight. Our parents took some convincing that it was a good risk to take, but in the end, we managed to persuade them. We fell in love with how tranquil the setting was, the beautiful lake and how the space was a blank canvas. When we visited the just- constructed, permanent tipi in May 2021, we were blown away, it surpassed all our expectations, and we’re so proud of what they’ve achieved. 38
