Your West Midlands Wedding- April/May 2021 (Issue 73)
A family member made a sign for us from wood en crate pallets on which we wrote the order of the day. We als o had a barrow filled with drink and a tent in the garden, which had a sweet cart and blankets for the evening. Matt and I wanted our cake to be quite rustic a nd simple, so we opted for a naked design from Patricia Cooper. It was thr ee tiers and made up of raspberry, white chocolate, lemon sponge and B aileys. We decorated it with a floral garland of ivy and gypsophila with roses on the top. I wanted to make a quirky table plan and came across a picture on Pinterest, which used crates and flowers pots. I loved the idea, so I decided to use decorated jam jars with labels da ngling from them, detailing the table numbers and names. I had so much fun making it, and it looked incredible outside the barn. Our centrepieces were handmade wooden log s lices which we sourced locally and decorated with tea lights, hessian an d lace jars. We decorated the barn with hessian bows, gypsophila hearts, lanterns, tea lights and jam jars. We asked family members to save up their wine bottles which we filled with flowers. My dad put fairylights up in the trees, along with hanging tea lights which made an enchanting sight in the evening. What really attracted us to The Fleece Inn was its rustic English setting. The Medieval barn is from the early 15 th -century and hasn’t been modernised, which we loved. The venue is just as stunning inside, with wooden oak beams lined with garlands and fair ylights. The apple orchard was the perfect setting for our guests to enjoy th eir welcome drinks and canapés in the sun. We wanted a relaxed, coun try-themed wedding, and The Fleece Inn was perfect for that. 46
