Your West Midlands Wedding- April/May 2021 (Issue 73)
Blakelands Country House is a beautiful place that had been recommended to us. We booked the 17 th May, 2020, but due to COVID-19, we ended up moving our date to September and then to November before that got cancelled as well. We went for one last try on the 22 nd December. At the beginning of the month, we were put into the tier system, but we decided to go ahead anyway. We just wanted to get married, after waiting for nearly three years, so we chose to only have the ceremony. Our flowers were beautiful cream roses from Clare’s Weddings. We bought decorations that we weren’t able to use, so to keep it simple, we gave our guests personalised M&Ms that had our names on as favours. I bought my dress two years before the wedding from TDR Bridal. I knew I wanted a mermaid style, but I shocked myself when I went for lace. I bought a detailed belt online to give the gown a little something extra. I accessorised with a faux fur shrug to keep me warm, and I also purchased similar versions for the bridesmaids. I travelled to the venue in a cream and black Bramwith with my dad, and the bridesmaids went in a Volkswagen Campervan from Creme de la Creme Automobiles. 34
