Your West Midlands Wedding- February / March 2021 (Issue 72)
TRULY romantic Alice and Nick had to move their wedding due to COVID-19 restrictions but still had the perfect day at Moor Hall Hotel & Spa Images courtesy of Michelle Williams Photography A lice and Nick met 11 years ago in sixth form. “We had the same friendship group, so we spent a bit of time together,” says Alice. “After some help from our friends, we decided to start dating.” Nick proposed during a trip to New York City. “We were in a restaurant called The View Restaurant & Lounge on the final evening,” shares the bride. “It overlooks Times Square, and as you eat, it rotates so that you get a 360-degree view of the city. We had always wanted to go but never had the funds, so we began saving not long after we’d bought our first house together. I thought maybe we would get engaged, but he threw me off completely by saying he thought proposing in New York was a cliché. He asked me at the end of the meal, and it was a complete surprise. It was quite late, so the restaurant was fairly empty, which made it feel more intimate and special. It felt like we were the only ones there, and it was perfect.” The couple were originally meant to get married in June 2020. “As we were in the first national lockdown at that time we postponed the wedding to October 2020,” explains Alice. “Following the announcement in September that weddings were being cut to 15 guests we decided to pull the whole wedding forward and got married on Saturday 26 th September, 2020 before the rules changed. This meant that we were able to have all of our closest friends and family with us.” Here the bride shares some of her favourite moments from their big day... 27 REAL WEDDINGS
