Your West Midlands Wedding- October/November 2020 (Issue 70)
Rustic Roast Kitchen served us bread and oil to start, followed by a barbecue menu with waiter service and brownies and ice cream for dessert. Everyone raved about the food and loved the grilled halloumi and sweet potato fries the most. In the evening they set up a pizza oven and made more than 100! There was a big queue, and the food rapidly disappeared. To entertain our guests, we hired Rouge Entertainment. They were amazing! They sorted out all the entertainment as a package, so we had an acoustic singer for the drinks, a mic for the speeches and a band and DJ for the reception. They really made the whole evening, and Josh and Jess have amazing voices! We were feeling a little low on energy as it had been raining after the ceremony and we’d only just managed to take some formal photos. As we started going through the confetti cannon, Josh walked up behind us with his guitar and started singing. It was lovely and gave us the boost of energy we needed. I was so edgy in the morning, and I couldn’t work out why until I realised I just wanted to speak to Liam. The moment I knew he was downstairs, I felt all the anxiety and panic fade away, and excitement and happiness took its place. Liam wore a black tux from Next. We wanted to make sure he stood out, so we opted for a subtle paisley print. The groomsmen hired suits from The Black Tie Ltd, and they all looked super suave. The bridesmaids all wore off-the-shoulder black dresses. The eldest three wore Jarlo gowns, and our youngest niece chose a Chi Chi London dress. Our older niece turned into a young adult overnight, so we bought her a Lipsy dress last minute that matched the others but was more age-appropriate. I wore a dress called Jessie by Enzoani from Sammie Lou Bridal Couture. I thought I would have a high neck with long sleeves, but I found it didn’t suit me at all. Sammie from the boutique pulled a few dresses out the back that she thought I would like and I fell in love with my gown. I went back to Sammie to find the perfect veil, I wanted to make sure it was long and dramatic, and she found the perfect one with a bit of lace appliqué that matched my dress. REAL WEDDINGS 41
