Your West Midlands Wedding- August/September 2020 (Issue 69)
78 A touch of luxury Lucie from Lula Ann Bridal tells us how you can incorporate this luxurious hue into your dress. Lucie says : Gold can be incorporated in many ways throughout your wedding, such as metallic bridesmaids’ dresses in champagne tones. We’ve seen a demand for warmer tones in winter weddings and as a result lots of designers are producing more gold tones within their collections. Our favourite designer is Ronald Joyce, who offer lots of coloured options for the majority of their gowns. Rose gold is also on-trend, and we’ve seen a rise in the sale of headpieces, tiaras, hair vines and gold-edged veils. Richard Designs sell a whole range that we carry in-store. Accessories are a great way to pick out the gold in your dress or to add a touch of gold if you’re wearing ivory. Planning is key. Allow a minimum of eight months if you’re ordering your dress as the supplier will usually only stock it in ivory and gold will be classed as a special order. Lula Ann Bridal www.lulaannbridal.co.uk ALL THAT GLITTERS IS GOLD Your make-up is one of the most important aspects of your day, so we asked Laura Timms how you can incorporate this wonderful hue into your look. Laura tells us: Golds are very on-trend at the moment, whether it be metallic, glittery or rose gold. Metallics can be sophisticated if applied appropriately, so don’t overlook the high glamour embellishment and modernity that they bring to your wedding make-up. Rose gold can work beautifully with a soft, smoky eye using brown and cream tones, finished off by applying a small amount of rose gold shimmer into the inside corner of your eye. If you think this look won’t work with your vintage gown, think again! Follow these steps to create a wow-factor look: ❤ Wear it with a natural or nude lip. ❤ Highlighter must be applied lightly as not to look too futuristic. ❤ Creme or a matte lip works best. ❤ Only ever take the metallic shadow to your crease line. ❤ Always prepare your lid with a primer or cream shadow if you’re using a powder shadow. ❤ Line your eyes and add lashes or more mascara as your eyes will disappear without it. ❤ Blend the edge with a transition colour to make it more seamless.
