Love ON THE CARDS Jodie and Richard’s poker-themed wedding took place at Best Western Valley Hotel Images courtesy of Angela Brickley Photography J odie and Richard met playing poker. “We hit it off straight away and found it easy to talk to each other,” says Jodie. “We have a similar sense of humour and always make each other laugh.” Richard popped the question twice! “We first got engaged on Christmas day in 2015 but had no real plans of getting married,” shares the bride. “Then in January 2018, Rich proposed again which was a massive surprise. We decided that we would tie the knot this time around, and thought what better day than our 10 th anniversary? Unfortunately, it landed on a Tuesday which isn’t an ideal day for a wedding, so we moved it to the Saturday not realising it’s a leap year!
