Your West Midlands Wedding- June/July 2020 (Issue 68)
55 LOCAL INSPIRATION S E R E N E Summer W ith statement florals continuing to be a huge focus in wedding styling for 2020 and beyond, stylist Louise (The Brand Studio) and florist Amy (Bo Boutique) wanted to show a softer, more romantic take on floral installations. They took the lead from the wild informality of country gardens and English meadows, creating a relaxed floral archway for the ceremony pavilion using branches of birch and trailing amaranth, bundles of rosehip and pink snowberries, with dahlia and roses adding colour and wispy grasses providing texture. These delicate meadow-like florals were also used on the tablescape, bringing the outdoors into the light-filled marquee where rustic tables and benches add to the informal atmosphere. On the tabletop, a mix of crisp and modern white crockery and vintage cutlery and crystal glassware were used to create a timeless feel, hand-dyed blush cotton napkins and ribbons complete each setting along with a softly illustrated floral place card designed by Jacquie (White Olive Design Studio) to complement the floral design. Jacquie also created a bespoke, gold foiled and vellum stationery suite incorporating floral details and illustration of the venue, adding a personal touch. Completing the English meadow look, a simple and elegant buttercream cake (Farmhouse Cakes) is topped with barely-there florals and set beside a delicious selection of grazing-style dishes created in-house by the chef at Manor Hill House. In keeping with the relaxed vibe, the bridal couple were classically styled. The bride wears Madeleine by StelFox Bride (provided by Hagley Bridal Studio), barely there make-up and an elegant swept-up hairstyle created by hair and make-up artist Ruth at Makeup by Ruth, while the groom looks dapper in his tux (provided by Harvey’s Formal Hire) and snowberry buttonhole. This relaxed and elegant shoot was inspired by the natural beauty and gently rolling countryside surrounding intimate wedding venue Manor Hill House in Worcestershire Images courtesy of The Brand Studio
