REAL WEDDINGS 41 R obyn and Garnaud met online more than 11 years ago, it wasn’t as popular a meeting place as it is now so they kept that quiet for a little while! “I was attracted to Garnaud’s beaming smile and gorgeous brown eyes,” recalls Robyn. Seven years later on the anniversary of the day that they met, Garnaud proposed on the 1 st March 2016 during a long weekend in Rome. “I was completely surprised and cried like a baby when he got down on one knee in our hotel to ask me to be his wife and of course said yes straight away!” The big date was then set, Sunday 17 th November 2019 with The Boat House at Aston Marina in Stone setting the scene. Here we find out more about their special day... SETTING THE SCENE The moment they walked into The Boat House they both absolutely fell in love with the venue and thought it definitely had the wow factor they were looking for. “We loved how bright the room was with large windows letting in lots of natural light and looking out onto the beautiful surroundings of the marina,” shares Robyn. “The lights that hung from the ceiling, the open- plan blank-canvas space, and we could have the day all in one place were all what sold it to us!” For the finer details of the day Robyn and Garnaud opted for the following finishing touches; guests were treated to Lindt Lindor truffles for favours, there was a 6ft silver mirror acting as a table plan and diamanté hurricane vases were the vessels used for the centrepieces while the reception room was decorated in a mass of flowers. The big-day bake was a three-tier design in the couple’s colour scheme; grey on the bottom and lemon-flavoured, burgundy in the middle (banoffee) and edible silver sequins on the top (cookies and cream). What’s more, Robyn and Garnaud chose to have ‘his and hers’ silver thrones for the bride and groom, and not forgetting the burgundy organza chair sashes with pearl brooches, silver sequin table runners and silver sequin top/cake table cloths, 4ft LED ‘love’ letters, fairylights along the wooden beams, blossom trees along the aisle and a lit dancefloor in the evening – a day styled to perfection by Melissa from Bespoke Creations! LOOKING THE PART Robyn looked stunning in an ivory/nude dress by designer Madison James. “It was a fitted bodice on the top with little spaghetti straps and then just flowed at the bottom and had a long train. The dress was so elegant and featured rose-patterned lace across the bodice and hemline and also had a layer of glitter that shimmered in the light,” adds Robyn. “I completely fell in love with it as soon as I tried it on at a wedding show in Birmingham and on the day I truly felt like a princess. I accessorised the dress with rose gold jewellery, a rose gold and pearl headpiece and a pair of nude sparkle mesh Christian Louboutin’s that my brother so kindly treated me too.” For his big-day look Garnaud opted for a three-piece burgundy wedding suit with a black sequin bow tie and black shoes, and that definitely meant he stood out from all the other groomsmen who all wore slim fit three-piece grey suits and with coordinating burgundy ties and buttonholes. Robyn’s group of bridesmaids wore silver dresses, that had sequins/jewels on the top, was backless and flowed to the ground – beautiful! 
