78 Stellar advice from the experts HAIR & BEAUTY Q&A PLANNED TO PERFECTION I would love my bridal party to all be treated to having their hair and make-up done – how much time should we allow for this on the morning of the wedding? Laura says: I have been doing bridal hair and make-up for more than 15 years now and I tend to do all hair first then make-up if I’m booked for both services. I allow around an hour per person for hair and make-up application, a little longer for the bride. I also plan the morning so that all bridal party members are ready, hair and make-up, an hour before you’re due to leave, this gives that additional hour if needed and some spare time for any changes or touch ups required. Kelly says: Fluffy brows – gone are the days of super slick and perfectly penciled brows. The latest trend has a more relaxed feel and is easily achieved by brushing the hairs upwards before setting with a clear or tinted gel. For a longer term solution, check out brow lamination treatments at your local salon. Au naturel – still by far the hottest make-up trend is the understated natural look. Think wedding-day Duchess of Sussex with radiant glowing skin, lightly flushed cheeks and doe eyes with a smoked-out liner. Berry nice – a classic red lip is a great way to amp up the glam, but it’s not a shade everyone will feel confident with. Try a gorgeous berry hue on your lips after the first kiss to take your look from day to night. Kelly Andrews | Beauty editor | kellya@county.wedding
