Our local experts answer your pre-wedding worries... SOS WEDDING planning FOREVER FLOWERS Q What are the wedding flower trends in 2020? A A big trend I’m seeing for 2020 is sustainable weddings and flowers. This meaning no floral foam as the effects of floral foam are huge to the planet − no foam doesn’t stop you going big or having hanging installations! Also, another eco-friendly trend is keeping flowers locally sourced from Britain which will certainly cut down on your CO emissions. However, with a number of guests with allergies and intolerances, how do we keep everyone happy? A There are so many options when it comes to wedding cakes these days, keeping everyone happy shouldn’t be difficult! Dessert tables are hugely popular with a variety of treats on offer including macarons, decorated biscuits and doughnuts, all of which create a stunning centrepiece at your wedding venue. Labelling these is a great way of ensuring your guests know what is suitable for them to eat should they have an allergy or intolerance (be creative with your labelling, they can match your table signs/plan). When it comes to the main wedding cake, most bakers can cater for intolerances (in cases of severe allergies, always do research into their premises/food handling practises etc). Having a tiered cake with alternative flavours is a great way of guaranteeing you have your dream wedding cake which can be gluten, egg or dairy free! Start early and plan as much as you can and make lists, brainstorm what you both would like for your day and then dilute your ideas into one list keeping in mind cost and necessity. Please don’t let this stop you adding the little luxuries as it is your special day but ideas and cost have to be a priority in the build up stage of your big day. ❤ Make the little details personal. You will inevitably need an army of suppliers ranging from the venue, venue décor to flowers and catering. Keep to what you truly want and how you see your day planned out. The morning of your wedding you want to enjoy and take in those special moments with family and friends and not be worried regarding set ups of tables, flowers and if you have enough chairs! ❤ Enjoy your day. You are marrying the love of your life so you don’t want to miss a thing! Try to be stress-free and have a back-up plan in case something does go wrong. The weather is always an issue especially with an outdoor venue, but they will have plans in place to embrace that change of forecast and have helping hands preempted.
