OS Our experts give their advice to help you look your big-day best COVER-UP If you struggle with acne and want to cover spots or scars, the first thing to do is focus on having a good skincare regime and drink plenty of water to keep the skin as clear as possible. When covering spots or acne I use a yellow colour corrector first to mute any redness followed by a good concealer. My preference is Bobbi Brown Creamy Corrector and I use a slightly lighter shade than the foundation. Let this sit for a moment and then apply a foundation such as Armani Luminous Silk Foundation which has buildable coverage and excellent finish. Set the make-up with powder to finish off the look and these steps should hide all acne or spots for the special day. If you’re having a bespoke dress consider heavier and thicker fabrics, even if you want a light chiffon look it can be lined with a thicker fabric. Long-sleeved dresses are a current strong trend and if you have a sleeveless dress already, consider redesigning it with a seamstress. Another option is a lace bolero, or a dramatic cape using faux fur and feathers or opt for a denim, suede or leather jacket to give an edgy look. When I’m working with a bride, whether it’s a bespoke dress or re-design alterations we look at all options to suit her personality, venue, and theme. Other small options could be adding a petticoat to give an extra layer and don’t be too scared to finish your look off with a gorgeous hat. Stephanie Kyles | Stephanie Kyles Bridal | stephaniekylesbridal.com LOVELY LOCKS It’s not uncommon for us to neglect hair during the winter months; here are some of my top tips for keeping hair looking at its best! ❤ As the temperature drops, the first thing most people do is turn the heating up but don’t realise the adverse effect that the dry air has on our locks. To prevent this, use a humidifier at night to keep hair moisturised. ❤ Use a deep conditioning treatment twice a week which is suitable for your hair type to keep your scalp and hair moisturised. ❤ Add a few drops of oil to towel- dried hair or shampoo to ensure a glossy finish – Moroccan oil is my personal favourite! ❤ Make sure to have regular trims to minimise damage and bring back healthy hair. ❤ During the cold winter months we must protect our hair from the elements, ensuring that the hat of choice is satin lined because that will prevent frizz caused by static electricity.
