Your West Midlands Wedding - Dec/Jan 2019 (Issue 65)
Nothing can prepare you for the overwhelming feeling of gratitude and love when you see a room full of all your nearest and dearest. We had a DJ who did such an excellent job of keeping the dancefloor buzzing with popular songs played from both Western and Bollywood genres. Suraj’s cufflinks were custom-made and a gift from me exactly a year before the wedding date. The groom wore a three-piece suit and an ivory waistcoat to match my wedding dress with a pale blue tie to match the bridesmaids’ dresses. I wore a princess-style Anna Solano dress with long sleeves and a diamante belt, which was exactly what I had imagined wearing on my wedding day since a young child. The bridesmaids wore pale blue sequin dresses and carried bright, colourful bouquets to match with the theme. My friends and family joined in on some Garba, a form of traditional Indian dance and I got to show off some new Bollywood moves I learnt when visiting India earlier this year. REAL WEDDINGS 33
