Your West Midlands Wedding - Dec/Jan 2019 (Issue 65)
As a couple, we love to travel and need no excuse to go on holiday. We have so many places that play an important part in our relationship, so it made sense to name each table after them. Our wedding favours were a pin-badge from the British Heart Foundation along with a donation in every guest’s name as a way of remembering loved ones on the day. We wanted every guest to feel special, so for place names we had polaroid photos printed of each guest to mark their seat on the tables. Even the cake contained edible flowers to go with the theme! We used a bold and bright mix of flowers and balloons to decorate the venue, as a mixed culture couple we thought this would represent the vibrancy and joy of both of our cultures coming together. Our wedding reception took place at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens where we would often visit whilst dating. Being a summer wedding, we wanted the wedding theme to reflect the bright, loud and energetic vibes of a new start together. We got married in our local parish church as we love historical venues and have many fond memories of the village of Harborne from the early years of our relationship. On the first visit we were blown away by the welcoming nature of the community and the building itself looked like the perfect setting. 32
