55 LOCAL INSPIRATION VINTAGE This autumnal colour palette accented with regal blues and deep red hues is the perfect example of how romantic winter weddings can be Images courtesy of Timothy James Photography T he concept behind the photo shoot which was the brain child of Timothy James Photography, was themed around ‘vintage in the country’ and aimed to create a refreshing take on a vintage-themed modern wedding. Timothy adds, “Manor By The Lake as a venue is incredibly accommodating to various wedding themes. I specifically wanted to work with the rustic character of the building I encountered when I first visited the venue. Using the textural exterior as a backdrop for a warm, intimate collection of images, each was accented with vintage details: delicate lace lingerie and robe for bridal preparation shots, tweed suit for the groom and lace detailed dresses for the models as well as an original classic Triumph for the wedding car. “The approach to the shoot was to design a selection of key floral elements and signage that we could move and inter-change to create the impression that the entire venue was dressed in the theme. We opted for trails of leaves and a signature candle-stick centrepiece that would thread the choice of flowers across the overall scene, not just in the bouquets. We also used several accompanying chair details to accent the key elements. The signage was hand-painted on wooden panelling to continue the warm colour palette and textural ambiance of the shoot. “We approached the structure of the photo shoot as a micro- wedding day but photographed from midday onwards to make the most of the afternoon sun and give the overall set of images a cohesive warm tone.” romance
