Your West Midlands Wedding - Jun/Jul 2019 (Issue 62)

REAL WEDDINGS 49  TIME TO CELEBRATE Guests were entertained by music from Luke Brown before, during and after the ceremony. He sang live with his guitar and stood on the balcony above the ceremony room. “To walk down the aisle we had A Thousand Years, by Christina Perri, to sign the register I’m Yours by Jason Mraz, and to walk out as husband and wife Paradise, by George Ezra played,” shares Charlotte. At the evening reception, as a surprise for guests, the couple hired glitter make-up artists Wish Upon a Sparkle, there was also DJ Benny Smyth who made sure the couple had a perfect first dance and evening reception. “The entertainment was a huge hit with guests, they loved being creative with the different designs the make-up artist provided which looked great in our evening photos! “The guests also particularly loved our first dance which Benny pulled off to perfection; we started with Kodaline, The One and towards the end it turned into Country Roads and everyone enjoyed dancing together. This was something that my mam and step-dad had done at their own wedding so it was a nice tradition to continue.” MEMORABLE MOMENTS Charlotte was extremely nervous on the day and didn’t think she would be at all, “I’m not usually phased by anything! But I think I felt very overwhelmed that our big day was finally here and wanted it to be perfect,” shares Charlotte. “The second I saw Dan standing at the end of the aisle waiting for me, all the nerves disappeared and I was just so excited to be marrying my best friend surrounded by our loved ones. I felt so special and the luckiest girl in the world to have this amazing wedding day.” Dan was really chilled-out all morning and was excited to get to the venue and arrived far too early and had to hide downstairs out of the way. He adds, “Standing at the end of the aisle I was the most nervous with everyone looking at me but when Charlotte arrived I felt happy for the scary bit to be over! I relaxed a lot more after my speech and loved the whole day, especially the nighttime reception when the DJ arrived.” For both the ceremony is a blur of happiness and excitement, “we can’t wait to relive it when our video arrives!” Walking back up the aisle is something they will never forget and they loved the speeches, “all of our loved ones in the one room, laughing along with special memories being shared. That was a huge highlight,” they add. A STORY TO BE TOLD “Our baby boy was 10-weeks-old on our wedding day and 15-minutes before I was due to walk down the aisle, he decided he was hungry! He is a bottle refuser so this meant breastfeeding our baby Charlie in my wedding dress whilst having my pre-ceremony interview with the registrar! I’m sure that’s a first for her!” shares Charlotte. While leaving the ceremony and walking down the aisle as Mr & Mrs Small, their little nephew Harrison knocked one of the benches over at the back and one of the fab photos shows all of the guests’ reactions! During the dancing to Country Roads with all of their family and friends, Charlotte leapt into her step-dad’s arms to be spun around and broke two ribs! “Which I didn’t know until the week after our honeymoon!” laughs Charlotte.
