Your West Midlands Wedding - Apr/May 2019 (Issue 61)
REAL WEDDINGS 45 soul music and had always dreamt of having it on my wedding day; we came across Gospel Touch and instantly we knew our day wouldn’t be complete without them! “On the day they warmed up our guests before I came down the aisle to sweet sounds of Bob Marley and Beyonce to name just a few. Rob said the atmosphere was incredible, they left everyone smiling and even eased his nerves. As I walked down the aisle the choir sang As by Stevie Wonder, one of our favourite songs with lyrics so beautiful and very appropriate on such a day. After the ceremony we walked out as Mr and Mrs to another by Stevie Wonder Signed, Sealed, Delivered...I’m Yours leaving us with even bigger smiles on our faces!” Post-vows, the couple and their guests all sat together and enjoyed a feast of four-courses courtesy of the incredibly talented chefs at Hampton Manor. “After a week of nerves, and very little appetite as a result, this meal truly was the best ever, surrounded by our favourite people and sat next to my husband. It was the first point of the day, I paused for a second just to take it all in,” recalls Bryony. “We had Jayme from The Wedding Crashers serenading us with an acoustic set. He pitched the song choices perfectly with no brief at all, the atmosphere was electric with guests joining in between courses and we loved that this music offered something completely different to the gospel choir we had for our ceremony and reception drinks.” MEMORABLE MOMENTS “Walking down the aisle was a moment I was so daunted by in the lead up to the day and yet when the time came I felt total calm,” shares Bryony. “We’d had a wonderful morning of preparations and I was ready, feeling my most beautiful ever and unbelievably happy. I watched my bridesmaids go one by one ahead of me and entered the room, arm in arm with my dad. If I could bottle that moment and experience it again and again I would. Walking into a room full of my favourite people all with such emotion and happiness in their faces and of course, seeing my now husband waiting for me at the end of the aisle. It was easily the best moment of my life. ”We loved the late afternoon period of our day. After our wedding breakfast and speeches, we all headed out onto the terrace, the weather dry and just bright enough that we could be outside. We’d hired vintage garden games from Daisy Chain Wedding Hire that lay scattered amongst the grounds. A vintage bowling alley, archery and 10 green bottles games to name just a few − our guests loved it and after an incredible four-course meal courtesy of the incredible chefs at Hampton Manor everyone was more than ready to partake in what can only be described as some kind of wedding olympics to work it off! Then, just as everyone was ready for a rest, our magician Darren Campbell arrived to do some close-up magic. The atmosphere was electric, he was, quite literally blowing everyone’s minds with his insane tricks. Rob and I both took a minute to take in this moment, seeing all of our guests laughing and seemingly having the best time ever was a real highlight.”
