Your West Midlands Wedding - Feb/Mar 2019 (Issue 60)

CAN’T HELP FALLING IN LOVE A safari park setting complete with a quirky Beauty and the Beast performance was perfect for Laura and Jean-Baptiste’s wedding Images courtesy of Tammie Louise Photography L aura and Jean-Baptiste, known to his friends as JB, first met on an online dating site. “Apart from the mutual attraction we both have big personalities so we kept one another on our toes,” shares the bride. “It sounds cheesy but he was the one I’d been waiting for.” JB proposed 18 months later, getting down on one knee to ask for his future bride-to-be’s hand in marriage. He had asked Laura to attend his work’s summer ball at Sixways Stadium, home of the rugby team he played for at the time, Worcester Warriors. He even had an unknown number contact her to confirm her invitation and meal options. “On the day I got ready with a few of the other players’ girlfriends and when we arrived JB was ready to greet me, he took my hand and guided me to the space adjacent to the function room. Inside there was a photographer who started to take pictures and before I knew it JB proposed,” adds Laura. “He was so nervous, he actually asked me to be his girlfriend. I began crying, which was partly because I was three months pregnant with our daughter. After I said “yes”, I was confused, as there was a table for two in the room, which I assumed he’d arranged, but it was a distraction as in the next room, our loved ones were waiting to congratulate us. JB had really gone all out and proved he loved me just as much as I loved him.” Here the bride tells Your West Midlands Wedding about their special day...
