This romantic tale started in the digital world when the couple connected in 2021 during the Covid-19 pandemic through the dating app Hinge. They quickly clicked, exchanging messages to learn more about each other. After chatting on the app for a few weeks, they transitioned their conversations to WhatsApp. Adeyemi was captivated by Sara’s genuine nature, kindness and commitment to justice, while she loved his charming personality and good looks. Adeyemi proposed during a family visit to Nigeria in the summer of 2023. After a fun-filled day of adventures, the couple was winding down for the night. Just before they settled in, he delivered a heartfelt speech and asked Sara to be his wife. It caught her off guard, even though she had a hint that he might propose during this trip! SETTING THE SCENE The lovebirds planned the perfect city wedding for May 2024, aiming to keep costs low without compromising on beauty. Lambeth Town Hall, chosen for its historical elegance and contemporary conveniences, was the perfect canvas. The Circular Hall, just the right size for the guest list, featured stunning stained-glass windows and a magnificent marble staircase that set a beautiful backdrop for their ceremony. The Assembly Hall, where the reception took place, was a versatile space that allowed the couple to personalise the setting, making it truly their own. With its rich history, fantastic photo spots, functional layout and top-notch facilities, this impressive Grade II listed Edwardian building that has been recently refurbished. The couple’s table arrangements were effective and inviting, creating a warm atmosphere for the event. Each table was meticulously set up to ensure guests felt comfortable and wellcatered. Each guest was given a beautifully crafted candle holder personalised with the couple’s names and the wedding date. The rustic design brought a touch of charm that reflected Sara’s heritage. The gorgeous centrepieces were designed by the team at Johnny Flowers, who also created the beautiful bouquets and other arrangements spread throughout the venue. The wedding breakfast was a combination of Nigerian and Southern American food that was absolutely delicious. A treat was the tasty red velvet cake and gluten-free cupcakes. LOOKING THE PART The bride was absolutely radiant in Morilee’s Grazia wedding gown. She had always dreamed of wearing a princess-style dress, and this one featured the ideal combination of lace and tulle. Since the dress was such a showstopper, she opted for minimal accessories. Sara commented, “We were running late to get to the venue, so I felt stressed. Of course, I wanted to ensure I looked beautiful, but I was more concerned about rallying the bridal party and ensuring we arrived on time. I will say the moment I saw myself in my dress, I felt radiant! Everything just clicked, and I knew this was the one.” The groom looked incredibly dashing in his black tuxedo, with his white shirt peeking out from beneath. Perfectly complemented by a sleek black bow tie, the outfit added a touch of classic elegance.
