Your London Wedding - November/December 2023 (Issue 92)

YOUNG LND REVIEW As we entered the winter months, the dropping temperatures and harsh winter winds have hugely impacted my skin, leaving dry patches and dull skin behind. Young LDN came to my rescue with its iconic Fire and Ice treatment designed to resurface the skin. Nestled on Notting Hill’s iconic streets, the team has taken beauty and skincare to the next level with various offerings to help clients look and feel beautiful. They’re on a mission to educate and inspire clients of all ages with a five-star service and the latest technology. Clients can pick from acclaimed beauty, skin and body treatments for the ultimate pampering sessions. As I entered the award-winning facility, I was welcomed to a calming space away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. After being greeted by my wonderful beauty therapist, we discussed my skincare concerns before diving in. I struggle with congesting, especially around my nose and chin areas. So, we decided some extractions would help to achieve the best results – spoiler alert, it worked a miracle! The treatment started with a deep cleanse and exfoliation to prepare the skin for the Intensive Resurfacing Masque, formulated with sugar cane extract and vitamins A and B3 to help decrease the appearance of fine lines while healing the skin, preventing breakouts and retaining its moisture content. This is where the fire part kicked in due to the active ingredients, but it’s only a slight tingle and nothing too intense. An Intensive Resurfacing Masque followed, formulated with strong antioxidants, hyaluronic acid, aloe vera, green tea, grape seed and rosemary extract. The concoction of ingredients helps hydrate the skin, reduce hyperpigmentation and help control oil production. It was time for a hand and arm massage while this sank in, where I felt my worries melt away before some red-light therapy to help boost skin collagen. My favourite part of the treatment was the cooling massage balls gliding over my face to help stimulate the skin while reducing puffiness. After the treatment, I noticed an immediate difference that left me feeling beautiful! My skin looked more radiant with faded hyperpigmentation, added hydration and no more blackheads – thank goodness! I received plenty of compliments about my glowing skin over the course of the next few days, and I didn’t need to wear any make-up for at least two weeks. I loved how my knowledgeable beauty therapist shared priceless skincare advice through the experience. I’ve made some notes, and I’m already noticing a difference in my home routine. The treatment is perfect for all skin types, especially acne-prone or ageing skin. It’s priced at £175 for 60 minutes, which is worth the results – especially before the big day. With no downtime, I took to the streets of London feeling ultra-confident! Consider layers and look for gowns with removable sleeves or detachable skirts to enjoy the versatility of having different looks throughout the day while staying warm. Layers can also add depth and visual interest to your gown. Accessorise with winterthemed accessories like a luxurious faux fur wrap or a cashmere shawl for a touch of elegance and sophistication. Long-sleeved gowns are an excellent choice for winter weddings as they offer an extra layer of warmth and can be incredibly stylish. To add a romantic touch, look for gowns with beautiful lace or intricate embellishments on the sleeves. Opt for rich textures to complement the winter ambience. Fabrics like velvet, tulle or embroidered lace can add depth and visual interest to your gown, making it stand out during your winter wedding. Consider a fitted silhouette, which can work wonders in colder temperatures while avoiding bulky layers. Pair it with a stylish coat or cape for a dramatic entrance and warmth. Remember the footwear, as winter weddings often require suitable footwear for slippery surfaces. Consider closed-toe or boots with a low or block heel for style and comfort. Embellish with lace or sparkle to match your gown. Be open to unique colours! While white and ivory are traditional for weddings, don’t be afraid to explore other shades like blush, champagne or even rich jewel tones. Remember to try different styles and work with bridal consultants who can help you find the perfect winter wedding gown based on your preferences.
