Your London Wedding - November/December 2023 (Issue 92)

We always wanted an intimate wedding in our home city; we’re both big foodies and are obsessed with chef Ottolenghi. We were so excited that we could book one of his restaurants for our wedding reception. James and his best men had their suits made from Ede & Ravenscroft; they went for a charcoal grey heavier fabric. James then treated them to ties from Hermès and pocket squares from Eton. The bridesmaids wore black dresses for that chic and sophisticated look. We’d arranged for our dog Penelope to be there as we entered the ceremony space, which made us feel relaxed and calm. James has been a member of The Reform Club for a few years, which feels like a different world, and were thrilled to host our drinks reception there. I’d always imagined getting married at The Old Marylebone Town Hall; it’s intimate and relaxed. I love the entryway, hallway clad in marble and the Knightsbridge Room. We wanted a wedding where all our favourite people would have fun! James always said he wanted a room where he could say without hesitation that he loved everyone there, and this suited our plans of having a guest list of 30 in the day and 40 in the evening. 38
