Located by the American Embassy, and the surrounding Nine Elms which has been transformed into London’s new residential and business quarter, it’s now steeped in style and elegant charm. A converted 1930s Dutch barge, the Battersea Barge has undergone a major refurbishment offering lots of light, steel, glass and personality. Ceremonies can take place on the barge lower deck, with stage, sound and lighting with up to 130 guests standing or 80 seated. The whole boat capacity is 150 (subject to increase), and receptions can take place on either the partially covered middle or open upper decks, or a mixture of the two, both with amazing views of the river. Couples can choose to host their ceremony in either Wetland Living or the Observatory. Wetland Living is a quaint and intimate venue with a thatched roof and white-washed walls providing you with the perfect location for up to 42 guests. You can also host a standing reception in Wetland Living for up to 50 friends and family. The beautiful split-level heated Observatory, is perfect for unique ceremonies where you’re surrounded by 80 guests (plus 30 standing). It boasts a large window allowing panoramic views across the reserve; it also makes a stunning space for drinks receptions and buffet receptions for up to 160 standing attendees. Post-vows, additional to the Observatory and Wetland Living, the Water’s Edge room is a light and spacious room ideal for wedding receptions (110 seated, 165 Standing). It offers beautiful views across the lakes and pools of the London Wetland Centre and the room opens out onto a wooden decked balcony providing an additional area for guests to relax.
