49 Abbie and Iain’s winter wedding was brimming with character and nods to our incredible city Images courtesy of Winston Sanders Photography LONDON REAL WEDDINGS 49  T hank goodness for dating apps, because if it wasn’t for Bumble, we wouldn’t be sharing the gorgeous wedding of Abbie and Iain with you now. “We both swiped right, and the rest is history,” Abbie smiles. Fast forward two years and Iain is planning to pop the question. “We were at home in Surrey Quays when he got down on one knee in the living room,” Abbie remembers. “It was a home with lots of happy memories. We then celebrated with a drink at the pub where we had our first date, before heading to Oblix at The Shard for dinner.” The couple found their ceremony venue, Asylum Chapel, very early on in their search. “When we first met, we lived in our own flats in Surrey Quays and Nunhead,” Abbie explains. “When we stumbled across Asylum Chapel we couldn’t get over its beauty. It then turned out to be exactly 1.9 miles from both our addresses!” It seemed meant to be, so they set the date for 7 th December, 2019.
