Your London Wedding - September/October 2020 (Issue 73)
We were incredibly lucky that the venue had a marquee set up for another event the day before, and they offered it to us for our evening reception. Being summer, it was amazing to celebrate in a marquee in Greenwich Park. The team at the venue and the catering company ensured everything ran smoothly. We put our full trust in them and they helped execute our plans perfectly. We had a very talented classical guitarist to set the scene for our ceremony and canapé reception. In the evening, a live four-piece band played pop and rock songs. The singer was so energetic and everyone danced all night; we were chanting for one last song at the end! Giovanni stood out in a different colour waistcoat. My bridesmaids were travelling from all over the world, so it was impossible to coordinate their styles. Instead, they all wore various light blue gowns and they looked gorgeous. I gave a bride’s speech and luckily I’d consumed enough prosecco to keep the nerves at bay! It was incredible having all of our families there – it’s so rare! Giovanni was serenely happy on the day and loved having is grandmother as ring bearer. Yvonne’s top tip: Just go with the flow and enjoy every moment as they come! 46
