Your London Wedding - May/June 2020 (Issue 71)
40 B oth performers, it was utterly fitting that Matt should ask for Emma’s hand while the pair were watching The Blue Man Group in Las Vegas and their plans for a full-on celebration progressed from there. Having decided to tie the knot in London, the hunt for a venue that could reflect their passion began. “We were both immediately drawn to Wilton’s when we went to see it,” Emma explains. “It seemed only natural that we should hold our wedding in a theatre and the building spoke for itself.” Their dusty pink, gold and grey colour scheme was born from there – with the building’s rough and ready bohemian-style renovation informing their décor. “We wanted to create a relaxed atmosphere, perfect for a party,” Emma explains. “Nothing too neat.” To that end, they kept their venue décor simple, with tables dressed with flowers and dusky pink linen and each guest given a cracker filled with bubbles, temporary tattoos and tea lights to kick start the fun. #OOTD And it wasn’t just the décor that was drawn from their love of theatre – Emma’s choice of dress was also influenced by a performance past. “My wedding outfit was inspired by a design from a show I did at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre in 2018,” she reveals. “Designer Jonathan Fensom made this fabulous mustard jumpsuit with floor- length sleeves and I knew right then that I wanted dramatic sleeves for my wedding.”
