Your London Wedding - May/June 2020 (Issue 71)
TOP We’ll simply remember our favourite venues, and then we won’t feel so bad GUNNERSBURY PARK Throughout the centuries, Gunnersbury Park House has stood witness to the most sumptuous parties and, after a £21 million restoration, it’s now ready to lend its magnificent Grade II* backdrop to celebrations once more. Picture your guests entering through the magnificent entrance hall, with grand stone staircase and oak balustrades, which leads through to the Rothschild Rooms – the house’s dedicated ceremony space. This sequence of opulent interconnecting rooms – comprising the Drawing Room, Long Gallery and Dining Room – overlook the sweeping south lawns and can be used individually (for 90, 40 and 90 loved ones respectively) or as one large space for up to 200 guests. Alternatively, the Orangery, which can accommodate up to 80 friends and family, or Temple, where 50 nearest and dearest can witness your vows are located in the grounds. Talking of which, there’s 72 hectares to explore here, so, whether you’re looking to celebrate surrounded by the fresh blossoms of spring, in the glorious summer sunshine, amongst the rich colours of autumn or the bright, crisp frost of winter, the ever- changing beauty of the park and water features will provide stunning surroundings.
