Your London Wedding - Mar/Apr 2020 (Issue 70)
REAL WEDDINGS 41 #OOTD Kyriaki searched high and low for a dress that fitted both her budget and her dreams, “I went as far as getting up at 6am to drive to a warehouse on an industrial estate in Port Talbot, Wales,” she admits. “In the end, I found the one at Bridal Reloved, which is about five minutes’ drive from my parents’ house.” Kyriaki accessorised with a hairpiece made by her florist, as well as a bespoke cape, handmade by Adorn by Ashley and Irregular Choice shoes. Arran, meanwhile, chose a teal three-piece suit from the Moss Bros Tailor Me range, with a paisley-print lining (a nod to the couple’s theme). The groomsmen were briefed to wear a blue suit, while the bridesmaids were asked to choose their own dress or outfit. “No need to be telling women I love what they can and can’t wear,” Kyriaki laughs. On the day, Kyriaki walked down the aisle to an acoustic guitar and viola arrangement performed by Arran’s friends and fellow band members. “Arran is shouting ‘half an hour late’ at me as I tell you this,” Kyriaki admits. “He’s also reminding himself that he married a Greek and we don’t do timekeeping. In fact, when he arrived at the church half an hour before the noon ceremony was supposed the start, the priest said ‘you’re early for 2pm!’ When Arran informed him it was at noon, he simply said ‘good to know, good to know’.” For the evening do another friend debuted his wedding and party band, Flamingo Jukebox, learning to play the theme tune from Zorba the Greek from scratch for the couple’s first dance, followed by a duo of DJs – accompanied by a spectacular live oil-light show by Astral Projections which filled the room with psychedelic colours and patterns.
