Your London Wedding - Sep/Oct 2019 (Issue 67)

WATERSIDE VENUES 39 WEST RESERVOIR CENTRE Originally a filtration plant and now a sailing centre by day, this one-of-a-kind venue transforms into a stylish and quirky setting for weddings and events as night falls – with its 1930s red-brick tower, dripping with industrial design elements inside and out, lending a warehouse-vibe to proceedings. Indeed, the Main Tower accommodates up to 150 seated guests for receptions or up to 180 friends and family for a less formal affair, while the separate Seminar Room is ideal as a break-out space. Outside, there’s plenty of choice – the lower decking is well suited to street food-style vans or there’s two wooden terraces either side of the Main Tower for summer celebrations and entertainment. Ceremonies and receptions take place inside The Deck, which seats 120 ceremony guests and 100 loved ones for a wedding breakfast. In clement weather, sliding glass screens open up to the terrace to create a free-flowing space inside and out and maximising those oh-so-Instagrammable views over the city. The venue boasts state-of-the-art lighting and AV designed and installed by the National Theatre’s own sound and lighting departments to boot, allowing couples to tailor the atmosphere to different moods throughout the day.
