Your Kent Wedding - March/April 2021 (Issue 95)

Our big-day bake was a three-tier vanilla cream sponge with a bespoke topper. We sourced pine cones from our garden, spray- painted them gold and put them to use as place names. My sister did the calligraphy for the cards, which were attached to the cones. Also decorating the venue were nine-foot blossom trees, a candy floss cart and pumpkin lanterns carved by Prince’s family. All of our flowers were organic and grown at Blooming Green near Maidstone. The florist there created beautiful bouquets for my bridesmaids and I. Then the day before the wedding my mum, one of my bridesmaids and myself handpicked the rest of the flowers. This meant we had an abundance of blooms that were both local and affordable. Our table plan was made up of a set of wooden frames with a burgundy floral design. The tables were named after parks that were significant to us, including Goodnestone Park where we got engaged. For centrepieces we hired blossom trees and scattered faux autumn leaves on the tables. The flowers were arranged by my mother and grandmother to decorate the base of the trees. REAL WEDDINGS 43 
