Your Kent Wedding -November/December 2020 (Issue 93)
REAL WEDDINGS 35 The bridesmaids wore dresses with sequined top sections and accessories to complement the rose gold theme. The lovely mother-of-the-bride wore an outfit from Fashion Scene in Meopham. TIME TO CELEBRATE A talented harpist welcomed guests into the barn for the ceremony with her music, and a fantastic DJ kept the dancefloor heaving throughout the evening. A highlight for Lian was the sparkler guard of honour, followed by an amazing firework display, which was also a big hit with guests. “They were incredible and seemed to go on for ages,” she remembers. Since the reception incorporated New Year celebrations, there were a few special touches, not least a confetti cannon, which released an explosion of foil as the clock struck midnight. A photo booth also comes highly recommended by the bride: “It was an absolute must, very entertaining and a huge hit with everyone,” she explains. The newlyweds flew to the Philippines the following afternoon – New Year’s Day. “We travelled around Manila, Bohol and Boracay for almost three weeks. A new destination to add to our travel map,” the bride says. WEDDING WISDOM Lian says, “Make sure the bride has her hair and make- up done first. That way she can be ready, relaxing and sipping a glass of champagne, while everyone else has theirs done. Also, practice your walk down the aisle, and your first dance, as well as your dad and daughter dance. I didn’t and I really wish I had.”
