Lara discovered a passion for make-up during her time as an international fashion model. She met many of the world’s top make-up artists and learned many tips and techniques that have served her well since qualifying in the field herself. LARA JAMES www.larajamesmakeup.co.uk @larajamesmakeup What’s your signature bridal look? I’m known for my feminine and natural looks, complete with dewy skin, medium coverage, natural lipstick, neat and brushed brows, peach or pink blush, a light touch of eyeliner, iridescent eyeshadow in earthy tones and natural-looking false eyelashes. If you could impart just one piece of advice to brides everywhere what would it be? If you’re prone to breakouts, it’s always best to keep your routine consistent. It’s not a good idea to be experimenting with new skin treatments, peels or unfamiliar products so close to the big day. If you don’t regularly get facials, avoid getting your first one right before the wedding as this will encourage impurities and blocked pores to spoil your perfect skin. I always advise my brides to start with facials at least three to four months ahead of time, so that when the day arrives your skin will be clear and glowing. Tell us about your top make-up trend tips for 2021 Whether they’re bare or coloured, lips will be very glossy, with lipstick the star of your wedding-day cosmetics. Plus, brides love a smoky eye, but with browns, beiges and roses in a satin or shine finish instead of matte. What product can’t you live without in your kit? MAC Face and Body Foundation has been designed specifically to be used on both the complexion and the body transfer free, and will diffuse the appearance of imperfections such as pigmentation and scarring. I love the skin to look real, but utterly enhanced. www.tonypullenphotography.co.uk Claire is the owner of Kent Professional Makeup. She became interested in, and started studying beauty almost 20 years ago while she was enjoying a modelling career. By the tender age of 19 she was already a lecturer in beauty. CLA I RE AUNGER www.kentprofessionalmakeup.co.uk @kentprofessionalmakeup1 What’s your signature bridal look? I’ll create almost any look for any bride however, my personal favourite is to enchance their natural beauty. I use lots of blended eye colours, with a light airbrush foundation, highlighter and natural lash extensions to emphasise the eyes. If you could impart just one piece of advice to brides everywhere, what would it be? Always be honest with your make-up artist, and ensure that you're happy with the results of your trial. Don’t panic if something doesn’t go to plan at some point during the day, as this was how it was meant to be. Remember, a wedding is about who you’re marrying and sharing the day with them. Tell us your top trend tips for 2021. My top trend for the winter is a very natural look, showing barely-there foundation, but by the spring it looks like a healthy glow will be on the cards, with plenty of highlighter, pink or red lips and bold black lashes. What product can’t you live without in your kit? My Airbase Airbrush Primer. It’s an outstanding silicon-based product that never fails. 110
