Is there a way that these people can still be involved in the fun without being present on the day? Absolutely, we’ve been conducting virtual solutions for our clients for 15 years. We have a sophisticated system, which allows virtual participation in events by dialling in via a number of different applications. We’ve recently worked in Spain and Italy, providing access to wedding guests, who were dressed to impress, armed with a glass of champagne, and ready to dance the night away – all virtually. The system also allows two-way conversation, so the bride and groom can talk to their guests just as they would if they were there in person. We also like to work with couples prior to the big day to produce video footage with cameras and drones to publish on the day. We love to create their story, and through buffer and other social media, release it on the day as they say “I do.” DJ Alan Mash www.djalanmash.com WHEN THE STARS COME OUT What are your suggestions for creative night-time shots? When planning to capture a creative night-time image, I first look at the venue’s surroundings. Look at the ambient light and see whether you need to enhance it with additional lighting and especially look at the sky to see if there are any interesting cloud formations. Try to add a few elements of interest, I love to use sparklers in my evening images. For this shot, I needed the couple to stand still, as the exposure would take a little time to hold the sky. I also used a backlight to surround them with a glowing aura, before running around them for 10 seconds to create the spiral of sparklers. It takes time to organise, but the finished photograph is always worth the effort.
