Your Kent Wedding -September/October 2020 (Issue 92)
Siobhan and Mickey tied the knot on 30 th August, 2019 at The Secret Garden, Mersham Le Hatch Images courtesy of Peter Reynolds Photography S iobhan and Mickey worked together while studying at the University of Kent, but they never really got talking properly until four years later, when Mickey moved in with a mutual friend. When their friend invited Siobhan over for dinner one evening, she and Mickey finally had a chance to chat. “We realised that we got on really well and started dating a few weeks later,” Siobhan says. They say: when you know, you know, and it wasn’t long afterwards that they moved in together. Despite being aware that Mickey had her engagement ring at the ready, since they’d purchased it together a few months earlier, Siobhan was still shocked when he asked her to marry him. Mickey had chosen a romantic spot where they could watch the sun set over Porto old town, in Portugal. Siobhan explains, “I never expected him to propose abroad, and burst into tears immediately!” The couple were keen to have a wedding with a relaxed vibe. The bride explains, “We wanted to celebrate our relationship and commitment to each other rather than follow the traditional wedding format.” When they met the events team at The Secret Garden, they clicked. The intimate Coach House suited their guest list perfectly and they fell in love with the gardens. Join us as the bride shares her account of their big day… ENDLESS love REAL WEDDINGS 49
