Your Kent Wedding -September/October 2020 (Issue 92)
Tom wore a three-piece tweed suit with bolts of colour running through it. He made sure that his waistcoat was double-breasted and that he wore a pocket watch to give it a classic look, different from his groomsmen who wore similar suits. They all accessorised with red rose-print ties. I was terribly nervous, and kept worrying that I’d trip on my dress or that something unforeseen would happen, but as soon as my bridal party and I formed our procession, all the worry melted away. I was so happy and so full of love. I’ll never forget reaching Tom at the altar, ready to say “I do.” We knew we wanted a venue in Kent that was easily reached by our guests. As Tom is from Headcorn, it just had to be The Weald of Kent Golf Course & Hotel. I wore a preloved gown from Brides Dress Revisited in Otford. It’s a great boutique. They only sell dresses no more than two years old, so they’re all still on trend and in good condition. I fell in love with a Justin Alexander dress, and accessorised with a pearl and gold leaf hair band. Our bridesmaids wore blush pink maxi-length sleeveless dresses, with pearl embellishments. Tom said he felt unusually calm. He didn’t look back as I walked down the aisle as he wanted to see me for the first time once I’d reached him. He remembers how his best man, Marc, told him how beautiful I looked, and how it felt like an age until I was by his side. 44
